Good afternoon, it is indeed an honor to be with you today. I want to thank the ASHP Section of Pharmacy Practice Managers Selection Committee and the faculty and staff of Northeastern University School of Pharmacy for extending this invitation and opportunity to me. I also want to thank Dean Jack Reynolds, Ross Thompson, and Chris Fortier for their great hospitality during this visit.

It is always a distinct honor to be recognized by your peers, but it is particularly meaningful to be included in such a distinguished group of pharmacy visionaries and leaders as the Webb Lecture Awardees. These are people I have admired during my entire career, whether early on or right up to today. These people have been exemplary leaders of the profession, and it is very humbling to be included in this group. I would also like to note that while the Webb Lecture recognizes an individual, in no way do I consider the accomplishments that supported my nomination to be mine alone. I would like to sincerely thank all of the fantastic people I have been fortunate enough to work with over the course of my career for believing in and supporting my ideas and actually making them happen, who include the staff at United & Children’s Hospitals in St. Paul, Minnesota, where I did my residency; Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, Illinois, where I had my first management job as the i.v. room supervisor; the St. Margaret Mercy Healthcare Centers in Hammond and Dyer, Indiana, where I had my first director job; University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics and the University of Utah College of Pharmacy, where I had my first academic medical center leadership opportunity; Indiana University Health, where I had a system leadership opportunity; Visante, where I have the opportunity to support high-performance pharmacy all across the country and internationally; and the ASHP Foundation, where I have had the opportunity to be part of the Leadership Academy faculty team since its inception 10 years ago. And last but certainly not least, I would like to thank my family for always supporting me and putting up with all the “extra” time and projects that I have been involved with in my career. In reality, the Webb Lecture Award is the ultimate team recognition.
