Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. Thank you all very much. I am very flattered, humbled, and grateful indeed for this tremendous honor, and I am privileged to be in your midst delivering this 32nd John W. Webb Lecture. I want to thank the ASHP Section of Pharmacy Practice Managers Selection Committee for this designation and the faculty and staff of Northeastern University School of Pharmacy for inviting me to be with you today. I especially want to thank Dean David Zgarrick, Ross and Michelle Thompson, Bill and Lynn Churchill, Chris Fortier, and my local [University of Wisconsin (UW)] Badger friends for their warm Boston hospitality in this beautiful city over the last several days. It’s also a very special honor that several of the past Webb Lecture honorees are able to be here as well to share this special time.

I should mention that this week marks my first time to visit Boston. I’ve discovered that I like coming to Boston, and in particular I like coming in circumstances such as this. But I must admit that I wasn’t sure what to expect. Coming into this week, my sole experience with Boston was sending Wisconsin cheese gift packages to Bill Churchill after losing bets when your Patriots beat my beloved Green Bay Packers. I am proud to be from Wisconsin, and I’m always willing to wager cheese versus chowder when our teams clash in the future.
