Objective: The purpose of this study was to systematically review the literature regarding the predictive ability of subjective complaints and self-report across individuals with memory impairment. Data Selection: Research articles were gathered from multiple sources including the NIH and the Cobimet database. Data selection criteria of articles were comprised of subject memory measures and the predictive quality of subjective complaints on objective memory measures. Informal procedures such as internet search engines were also used to gather publication articles. Data sources used provided articles from the year 2000 to the present using the keywords “subjective memory,” “objective memory,” “measures,” “predictive,” “factors,” “Alzheimer's,” “dementia,” and “MCI.” The current literature provided 23 studies that used 2-3 keywords and 11 were excluded due to failing to meet the criteria of providing information regarding subjective memory complaints and their predictive quality.
