Objective: The goal of the present study is to categorize the commission of the six types of errors on the Benton Visual Retention Test (BVRT) by using Digit Span Forward (DSF), Digit Span Backward (DSB), and Letter-Number Sequencing (LNS) subtests of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale – III (WAIS-III) Working Memory Index. Method: One hundred forty eight participants of mixed neuropsychiatric diagnoses who presented to the VAPA neuropsychology assessment clinic and completed the WAIS-III and BVRT were included in the data analysis. Factor analyses were performed using SPSS 20. Results: Factor analysis of the six error types (omission, distortion, misplacement, rotation, perseveration, and size errors) resulted in two factor loadings: Factor 1, considered to be Major Errors, consisted of distortion, misplacement, rotation, and perseveration errors; Factor 2, considered to be Minor Errors, included omission and size errors.
