Objective: The relationship of demographic variables to performance on Benton Visual Retention Test (BVRT), Visual Naming subtest of Benton's Multilingual Aphasia Examination (MAE) and the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Third Edition (WAIS-III) were examined to enhance component understanding. Method: One hundred eighteen participants with mixed neuropsychiatric diagnoses who completed the BVRT, MAE, and WAIS-III were analyzed. Previous analysis of the BVRT and Visual Naming subtests of the MAE have produced two components representing the early and late sequence items for each test. A component analysis of WIAS-III data resulted in four individual factor scores based on a weighted combination of all of the raw subtest scores for the entire WAIS-II.
