Objective: There is a growing urgency for clinicians to consider cross-cultural variables that may influence neuropsychological performance. The aim of the present review was to determine the best practices when assessing socioeconomic status (SES) in cross-cultural neuropsychological research. This will aid in the development of a comprehensive SES questionnaire for EMBRACED Project. EMBRACED is developing a neuropsychological battery for cross-cultural assessment including eight countries and 1,920 participants. It includes a measure of SES variables due to their modulating effects on cognitive function. Data Selection: A comprehensive review was completed to determine the relevant aspects of SES for neuropsychological testing and those that may be sensitive to cultural differences.
