Abstract
Descriptions of three new species, some previously unpublished synonymy, and keys to Nearctic species are presented in this paper. The larvae of Muscina have been recorded as parasites or predators of other insects, as the cause of myasis in man, or as developing in decaying organic matter. In so far as I know, Dendrophaonia has been reported breeding only in the latter type of material.
