Sergi Barceló obtained his undergraduate degree in Catalan philology from the University of Alicante in 2008. He received a master’s degree in the teaching of Catalan for linguistic reception (Autonomous University of Barcelona), in addition to a Certificate of Research Proficiency in Language and Literature (University of Alicante) in 2012. He has been teaching Catalan language and literature at secondary schools since 2009. In his lessons, he attempts to implement new methods for the learning and acquisition of the language. He is currently working on a doctoral dissertation on Valencian Renaissance poetry and is involved in educational projects and the creation of learning materials for various institutions.
Ignacio Bosque is Full Professor of Spanish Linguistics (now retired) at the Complutense University of Madrid, and a member of the Spanish Royal Academy. His areas of expertise include the grammar of Spanish, the lexicon–syntax interface, and the teaching of grammar. He has carried out research on many aspects of the morphology and syntax of Spanish, and has edited several contributory volumes on these same issues. He coordinated the Spanish Grammar of the Association of Spanish Academies (Nueva gramática de la lengua española (2009)), and co-directed, together with V. Demonte, a comprehensive descriptive grammar of Spanish. He also directed two combinatorial dictionaries of Spanish: Redes-Diccionario combinatorio del español contemporáneo (2004) and Diccionario combinatorio PRÁCTICO del español contemporáneo (2005).
