Abstract
This chapter aims to reconstruct the Fayoum Oasis landscape based on epigraphic sources for the Christian Fayoum. The mapping of epigraphic evidence involves stocktaking, the collection of artefacts, and attempts to situate these artifacts in space and time. There are four groups of artefacts. The first consists of funerary inscriptions, the second of monumental dedicatory inscriptions, the third of ensembles of mural inscriptions, and the fourth of inscriptions on various objets d'art.
