Abstract
This chapter examines the excavation at the monastery of the archaeological site of Naqlun in the Fayoum Oasis in Egypt. The monastery's oldest period dates back to the second half of the fifth century and this dating was confirmed by the architecture of the hermitages and the architectural elements found on the kom. This chapter describes the monastery called Nekloni and the five hermitages identified in the hills around the monastery.
