Abstract

In the 1 August 2010 supplement of the journal, in the article by Chastre and Luyt (Chastre J, Luyt C-E. Other therapeutic modalities and practices: implications for clinical trials of hospital-acquired or ventilator-associated pneumonia. Clin Infect Dis 2010; 51(S1):S54-S58), the financial-support statement that is provided in the “Supplement sponsorship” section is incorrect; the correct wording is as follows: “The workshop was sponsored by the US Food and Drug Administration, Infectious Diseases Society of America, American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society, and Society of Critical Care Medicine. The publication of the proceedings of the workshop was made possible by the financial support of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, and Forest Pharmaceuticals.” The journal regrets this error.
