Multiple errors appeared in the 15 July 2014 issue of the Journal [Stevens DL, Bisno AL, Chambers HF, et al. Executive Summary: Practice Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: 2014 Update by the Infectious Diseases Society of America. Clin Infect Dis 2014; 59:147–59]. First, in the legend of figure 1, the greater than and less than signs are reversed and the number of cells is incorrect in the second sentence. Abnormal white blood cell count should be “(>12 000 or <4000 cells/ µL)” not (<12 000 or <400 cells/µL). Second, in Table 2, mupiricin treatment of impetigo should be application done three times per day instead of two times per day. Third, in Table 5, the dose for clindamycin should be 900 mg q 8 hrs not 900 mg/kg q 8 hrs. Fourth, in Table 4, the recommended dose of ciprofloxacin for treatment of Aeromonas hydrophila necrotizing infection should be 400 mg IV every 12 h. Lastly, in table Table 4, the dose of ceftriaxone for treatment of Vibrio vulnificus should be 1 gram IV every day (qd) and not qid.
The authors regret these errors.
