This virtual issue of Database is dedicated to the ACM Conference on Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, and Health Informatics (ACM-BCB). This is a flagship conference of the ACM Special Interest Group on Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, and Biomedical Informatics
BioCreative Virtual Issue
This Database virtual issue is themed around BioCreative: Critical Assessment of Information Extraction in Biology, an international community-wide effort for evaluating text mining and information extraction systems applicable to the biological field.
Biocuration Virtual Issue
The goal of the Biocuration Conferences is ‘to create a forum for curators and developers of biological databases to discuss their work, promote collaborations, and foster a sense of community in this very active and growing area of research’.
International Conference on Biomedical Ontologies Virtual Issue
Database is pleased to have published the following articles originating from the International Conference on Biomedical Ontology (ICBO) 2014. The articles were subject to the journal’s normal peer review process, and are collected together here as a ‘virtual issue’.
BioCADDIE Virtual Issue
The goal of the BioCaddie project is to build a unified ecosystem for discovering biomedical datasets. The articles in this virtual issue have been curated to assess the challenges that can occur for information retrieval systems when working with datasets.
