The Oxford Handbook of Irish Song from the Earliest Beginnings to 1850

Moyra Haslett is Professor in Eighteenth-Century and Romantic Literature at Queen's University Belfast and a Member of the Royal Irish Academy. She directed the AHRC-funded 'Historical Typology of Irish Song' project (2013-15). She has published widely on eighteenth-century literature, most recently editing Irish Literature in Transition, 1700-1780 (Cambridge University Press, 2020). She has also worked on interdisciplinary approaches to literature and music since her first monograph, Byron’s Don Juan and the Don Juan Legend (Oxford University Press, 1997) which included considerations of operatic and other musical versions of the legend. In her spare time, she enjoys singing and playing piano.
