Oxford University Press and the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) provide a service to authors by offering the option to transfer manuscripts between the ESC journals. Authors submitting to an ESC journal, will, where appropriate, be given the option for their manuscript to be considered by another relevant journal when the first journal is unable to accept their manuscript for publication. The European Heart Journal (EHJ) itself receives thousands of manuscripts annually and is able to accept less than 10% of those submitted.
If a manuscript is peer-reviewed by an ESC journal, yet deemed more appropriate for another specialty journal, and if the authors agree to their manuscript being shared within the ESC Journal Family, there will be no need for resubmission and the applicable reviewer comments will normally also be transferred, resulting in a reduced time to a decision.
In addition to EHJ there are 10 further journals in the ESC family participating in the manuscript transfer scheme.Cardiovascular Research
