2018
Explore the 2018 collection of high-quality research from six key topic areas of microbiology from the FEMS journals including antimicrobial resistance, environmental microbiology, pathogenicity and virulence, biotechnology and synthetic biology, microbiomes, and food microbiology.
2017
This collection of papers from the FEMS journals gives insight into the pathogenicity, genetics and biochemistry of these helically shaped microbes.
The Yeast Lipid Conference (YLC) is held annually to promote free discussion between scientists working on or interested in all aspects of yeast and fungal lipids.
This Joint Virtual Issue highlights the role of some yeasts as opportunistic human pathogens. This is a topic that has garnered much interest from the scientific community, especially in finding ways to fight yeast infections.
This virtual issue aims to highlight some of the most advanced, state-of-the-art strategies being developed today so humans (and animals) may continue to benefit from one of the oldest, most effective form of human-made self defense: vaccination against disease.
2016
This collection of papers across five FEMS journals has been created ahead of the Argentine and Latin American Congress of Microbiology (ALAM 2016) to be held 26th - 30th September 2016 in Argentina.
This collection of papers from five FEMS journals is related to the 16th International Symposium of Microbiology Ecology.
In recognition of the significance of the One Health concept, Pathogens and Disease and FEMS Microbiology Ecology, are teaming up to organize a joint virtual issue.
This virtual issue aims to contribute significantly to the chlamydial knowledge base and aid in the development of field trials of a chlamydial vaccine or perhaps other interventional strategies.

2015
28th July 2015 marks the 20th anniversary of the publication of the first complete microbial genome. To celebrate this occasion, we are pleased to publish a special virtual issue containing research from Pathogens and Disease and FEMS Microbiology Letters.
Aside from being used for production of bread, beer and wine, some yeasts are opportunistic human pathogens, and there is therefore much interest on finding ways to fight yeast infections. Top-level research from FEMS Yeast Research and Pathogens and Disease have been collected in this joint Virtual Issue.
2014
Celebrate FEMS' 40th birthday with this special collection.
