I should like to start by thanking Professor Roth and Judge Tulkens for organizing such a stimulating conference and for inviting me to offer these concluding remarks. In the very first presentation Bill Schabas asked us to see the issues in 3D — the three dimensions being international criminal law, human rights law and general international law. Indeed, we heard a number of speakers who addressed us from one or other of these perspectives.
