• Patrick J. Loehrer Sr., M.D., has been named interim director of the Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center. Loehrer, who was one of the original four medical oncologists at the Indiana University School of Medicine, will continue in his role as medical director of the IU Simon Cancer Center. He is an internationally recognized researcher and specialist in testicular cancer, gastrointestinal cancer and thymoma.

• Dana-Farber Cancer Institute has been accredited with the CEO Cancer Gold Standard™ certification, recognizing the organization's commitment to the health of its employees and family members by certifying its efforts to meet an exceptionally high standard of cancer prevention, screening, and care guidelines. William C. Weldon, chairman and chief executive officer of Johnson & Johnson, chairs the CEO Roundtable on Cancer, the nonprofit organization of cancer-fighting CEOs who created the CEO Cancer Gold Standard™ in collaboration with the National Cancer Institute, many of its designated cancer centers, the American Cancer Society, CDC, and leading health professionals.
