Abstract
The activity of glucose-6-phosphatase was investigated in homogenates of liver and of transplants of a chrysoidin-induced (2,4′-azodianiline) hepatoma in C57BL mice, as well as in other malignant tumors. Normal glucose-6-phosphatase activity was found in homogenates of chrysoidin-induced hepatoma as compared with that found in livers of C57BL mice. Lack of glucose-6-phosphatase activity, or only negligible dephosphorylation of glucose-6-phosphate, was observed in Crocker sarcoma 180, a spontaneous mouse mammary adenocarcinoma, primary rat liver carcinoma, and in transplants of hamster hepatomas.
