Summary
The transplantability of primary tumors of RPL12 virus-induced lymphoid leukosis was tested in two inbred chicken lines. The sex chromosome marker method was used to distinguish tumor induction by transplantation of tumor cells from conversion of normal host cells by virus released from transferred cells. Eleven lines were followed serially during a maximum of five transfer generations. Six of these lines were transplantable as cell lines maintaining the sex of the original donor; the remainder converted into neoplasms dominated by cells of recipient origin.
