Summary
1-β-D-Arabinosylcytosine is a synthetic nucleosidc with demonstrable tumor-inhibitory effects in human neoplasms. It produces a striking megaloblastosis associated with changes in serum folate and vitamin B12 levels. The pathogenesis of the megaloblastosis in relation to the biochemical effects of the agent is discussed.
