Summary

Intraperitoneal injections of either benzo[a]pyrene (BP) or 7,12-dimethylbenzlaJanthracene (DMBA) into mice during the last half of pregnancy resulted in an increased incidence of pulmonary adenomas and skin papillomas in progeny that were delivered surgically and nursed on foster mothers. The progeny of DMBA-treated mothers also developed ovarian tumors that were not observed in progeny of controls or BP-treated mothers.
