Summary
Liver cancer is more frequent among inhabitants in the savanna area of Ivory Coast, West Africa, than among those in the coastal tropical forests of that country. Because aflatoxin contaminations in food are likely to be more prevalent in the savanna, the pattern of cancer is consistent with the hypothesis of a relationship between aflatoxin and liver cancer.
