Summary

In the viral factory of the Yaba virus-induced tumor cell, small membranous spherical structures, designated as micelles, were observed together with virus particles and various virus-associated structures. The micelles were about 400 A in diameter and frequently adjacent to the arch structures during the formation of immature virus particles; apparently some were connected with the ends of the structures. It was suggested that concurrent assembly of the micelles and surface subunits is necessary to form the surface layer of the immature virus particle and to regulate a constant curvature of the particle.
