The University of Texas System Board of Regents named a new outpatient services building at its M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston in honor of President Emeritus Charles A. LeMaistre, M.D. , who led M. D. Anderson for 18 years before retiring last year.
The Clinical Services Facility at Anderson will be called the Charles A. LeMaistre Clinic. Dr. Charles A. LeMaistre The II-story building opened last April housing multidisciplinary care centers, a cancer prevention center, an emergency department, and conference facilities.
College Lauds Three
The Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, will bestow its highest honor, the Distinguished Service Award, on J. Frank Wilson, M.D. , professor and chair of radiation oncology and director of the college's cancer center.
The college will present the award May 17 during commencement exercises to Wilson and to college faculty members Tom Anderson, M.D. , chief of hematology/oncology, and John Lech, Ph.D. , professor of pharmacology and toxicology and founding director of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences Fresh-water and Marine Aquatic Biomedical Center.
