In July 2024 a reader contacted the journal, suggesting the disclosure for David Abrams in the Notes was incomplete. The journal contacted Dr. Abrams who provided an updated ICMJE disclosure form and a corrected disclosure statement for the Notes as follows: Between 2015 and 2020 David Abrams communicated with Juul Labs personnel, frequently gathering information and sharing his perspectives. He did not seek, nor did he receive any monetary compensation from Juul Labs. He did on occasion accept modest hospitality in the form of a meal at some meetings.
