The figure depicts as a global map the population-based cancer registries (PBCR) included in the 12th volume of Cancer Incidence in Five Continents (CI5-XII). The CI5-XII data call from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and the International Association of Cancer Registries (IACR) requested PBCR worldwide to submit datasets based on cancer diagnoses 2013-2017. Subsequently, datasets were received from 675 PBCR in 99 countries, and following the deliberations of the 16 CI5-XII Editors—tasked with evaluating the overall comparability, completeness, and accuracy of each data submission—Volume XII presents cancer incidence data from 460 PBCR in 65 countries. The series is an exposition of comparable data from PBCR around the globe; the map shows where the PBCR compiled in CI5-XII represent either national or subnational coverage, the latter based on one or more sentinel PBCR. The data are available online, and the corresponding book will be available at the end of 2024.
