Please note also that page 463, column 1, lines 22-24 should read “At present, none of the short-term tests can be used to establish whether a compound will or will not be carcinogenic in humans or experimental animals .... ” (not “At present, one of the short-term tests can be used to establish whether a compound will or will not be carcinogenic in humans or experimental animals ....”).
