Abstract

Dr. Martha Slattery regrets to inform the readers of an error in her report (J Natl Cancer Inst 80:1474–1480, 1988). In the Patients and Methods section, ICD-O codes 1.532, 1.533, and 1.537 should be defined as cancers of ascending sites, whereas ICD-O codes 1.530, 1.531, 1.534, and 1.536 should be defined as cancers of descending sites. The results presented by subsite refer to this coding system. In the original text, these definitions were switched.
