OpenURL reference links
The Oxford Academic platform allows institutional account administrators to activate reference links which direct the institution's users to their local link resolver.
NB You will need the username and password for your institution's subscriptions in order to activate your OpenURL links. If you do not know these, you can ask our Customer Services via the Oxford Academic home page.
How to activate OpenURL-enabled reference links
If you are an institutional administrator, sign in to your account using the Sign In link at the top right of any page.
Once signed in, from the drop down menu by your username, select ‘Institutional Settings’.
On the Institutional settings page, add details of the following:
OpenURL: This is the base URL of your institution's OpenURL link server. Usually this will end with a '?'.
OpenURL button: OpenURL links are displayed as a graphic which can be uploaded or changed by entering the URL of your chosen graphic in this box. Specifications for the graphic can be viewed by clicking the help icon beside the field label.
Once you are happy with your changes, click 'Save'. OpenURL links will display on applicable references within a short period after changes are made.
