How to access journals for which you have a member subscription
Note: Go straight to Step Two if you have previously registered an account with Oxford Journals.
Go straight to Step Three if you have previously activated your subscription to the journal you require.
Step one - register for an Oxford Journals Account as a new subscriber
If you are a new subscriber, or you have never accessed the journal online via your own subscription (as opposed to via your institution), you will need to choose a username and password by registering an account with Oxford Journals.
Step two - activate your subscription
Once registered, you will be taken to your Oxford Academic Account page. You now need to register your subscriber number. This is the eight digit number supplied when your subscription was first set up. If you do not know what your subscriber number is you may have it on the address label if you have a print subscription to the journal, or alternatively please contact Journals Customer Services. We will need to know your full name and address, and the name of the journal for which you have a subscription. Once you have your subscriber number, please click on 'Manage your subscriptions' and enter it in the box provided after reading the Individual User Agreement. Please note that activation of your subscription may take up to 36 hours.
Step three - access the journal you want
Select the journal for which you have a subscription and navigate to the article of interest. If you are prompted for a username and password at any point, please enter the ones you chose in Step one.
