Despite its title, this volume is not a true atlas but rather a multi-author, edited volume that covers a number of neurosurgical techniques relevant to the operative treatment of brain tumors. Those looking for an illustrated guide to surgery are likely to be disappointed. This volume is perhaps more comparable to a technique book, such as the venerable Rand's Microneurosurgery or the work of Schmidek and Sweet, rather than a traditional surgical atlas.
