Despite the great technological advances of modern science, the age-old technique of cadaveric dissection remains a powerful and practical tool in neurological surgery. Mavridis and Anagnostopoulou remind us that cadaveric dissection can make significant contributions even to such highly specialized fields as stereotactic and functional neurosurgery.
