Abstract
Triiodothyronine injection in rots resulted in an increased oxidation of fatty acid in liecr as well as increased incorporation of acetate into fatty acids and increases in levels of enzymes related to fatty acid synthesis. These opposing changes are overall an “ATPasc” like effect with a futile energy loss. The mechanisms by which triiodothyronine produces these effects are still unknown.
