Abstract
This concluding chapter argues that grandmothers are more capable of balancing paid work and unpaid carework compared to their adult children. This might be attributed to their decades of experience in multitasking, their maturity, as well as their understanding bosses and flexible workplace policies. In particular, nearly all of the grandmothers frequently rearrange their work schedules, change jobs or schedules, use paid vacation and sick days, and bring work home or return to work late to be available to provide grandchild care. For some, rearranging their work schedules results in lower earnings and savings or an end to paid vacation or sick time, pensions, and other fringe benefits.
