PCP Article Award - Best Article of 2014 has been announced!

The PCP Best Article Award is presented annually to the paper published in Plant & Cell Physiology (PCP) that The Japanese Society of Plant Physiologists believe best demonstrates excellence in its originality, international competitiveness, and contribution to the advance of Plant Science. The award is presented by the Japanese Society of Plant Physiologists at the society’s annual meeting with the winner receiving a certificate and 200,000 yen.

The best article of 2014 has been awarded to Shino Goto-Yamada, Shoji Mano, Chihiro Nakamori, Maki Kondo, Ryuichi Yamawaki, Akira Kato, and Mikio Nishimura who reported that the proteolysis and chaperone functions of LON protease 2 (LON2) regulates degradation of peroxisomes by autophagy, revealing the biological significance of a balanced control between chaperone function and autophagy for attaining overall quality control of peroxisomes.
