Abstract
General relation between Hermitian and non-Hermitian effective interaction theories is studied. A new representation for the Hermitian effective interaction is obtained, and its formal equivalence to Brandow's form is proved. A simple method is proposed for the calculation of the Hermitian effective interaction when the usual non-Hermitian effective interaction is known.
