Abstract
The origin of strong isospin dependence observed in the polarization asymmetries in the 12C(p, p′)12 C*1+ transitions at 65 MeV is investigated. The (p-d-p′) type two-step contributions have been included with the finite-range interactions. The interferences between central and tensor interaction terms in the one-step process and also between the one-step and the two-step processes are found to play significant roles providing the isospin dependence. The dynamics how such interference can be emphasized in the asymmetry calculation is studied in detail.
