Instructions for Book Reviewers
From the Book Review Editor
The book review section of Publius has long provided readers with important information and critical reviews of newly published books in the general field of federalism and intergovernmental relations. Reviews should be prepared so as to describe and critically evaluate the historical, theoretical, and comparative contributions of books reviewed. Publius book reviews generally run from 1,000 to 1,500 words and are expected to be completed within 3 to 4 months of commission. Longer word lengths and time allotments are possible for review essays comparing and contrasting two or more books. Publius’ book reviews appear immediately on Publius’ website at its advance access page and are published on-line in every issue of the journal. The table of contents for each print issue of the journal lists book reviews, but they are accessible only in that on-line issue.
